The Russian Revolution and Civil War —
Documents in the Russian Language
We are now starting to post a few documents in the Russian language about the Russian revolutionary struggle against the Tsar, the insurrection in 1917, the ensuing civil war, and the early years of the Soviet Union. Because of our inadequate language skills, for which we apologize, the descriptions of each document here are in English.
Some of these files were originally truly enormous in size, up to 500 megabytes or more. We have turned them into OCR searchable files (in Russian of course) and have then further reduced the file sizes. This means that visitors will need to use Adobe Acrobat version 9.0 or later (or equivalent PDF readers) in order to read many of these documents. [Version 9.0 came out in 2008 and has been superseded by several newer versions.]
If you know of other documents which should be posted here, or if you have other comments or suggestions, please contact us at: freespeech@bannedthought.net
