PGA’s Successful campaign in Eastern Ghats

during 2001

 

Coordinating with people, peoples’ militia guerrila forces of PGA carried out successful campaign of many tactical counter offensive actions in Eastern ghats since the beginning of 2001 which includes the major incidents at Kalimela, Motu , Maredupalli and many other minor ones.

On 28 February 2001, police forces started their search for the squad and reached middle of the villages Siribala and Korapalli of Gudem Mandal in Visakhapatnam distrtict. Finding none, the police forces were on their return wav to Korapalli village. PGA carried out an opportunity ambush on this Anti Naxalite Squad and APSP team of about 20 carrying SLRs, Stenguns and .303s though there were no losses on either side, enemy was taken aback by our initiative and was completely shaken. Enemy ran helter skelter, started firing blindly towards the guerillas and speedily disappeared from the area. When the same team reached between RV Nagar and Kotha Veduni Palli villages near Gudem waiting armed militia in the coffee gardens fired clamour mines. Though there were no losses this time also, the police team which had to face attacks twice on the same day were completely demoralised and ran for their lives. The additional forces came for their rescue and escorted them to Gudem.

Shyamagadda encounter: On 28th March, after getting information about the Korukonda Local Guerilla Squad (LGS)in the Shyamagada village of Gudem mandal in Visakhapatnam district police forces came for attack. When they reached near the squad, the sentry noticed them and fired the first round taking the initiative. It hit the constable on his chest and he fell down on the spot. Another bullet went through the hand of second constable. With this enemy forces became panic and started firing aimlessly. Taking advantage of the confusion the squad retreated safely.

Singapuram opportunity ambush: Armed militia carried out ambush with soap bombs on the ANS, APSP forces which are returning from the interior villages near Singavarm to Y Ramavarm mandal. Though there were no casualities in this ambush enemy was shaken with this and started firing aimlessly for long time in panic before returning.

Totamchelka opportunity raid: This was combined action by Palakajeedi, Konalova and Nagulakonda LGSs and rnilitia in the East Godavari district. It was carried out on ANS and APSP forces walking towards Ramavaram mandal from interior villages. The attack with the help of soap bombs and firing had shattered the enemy forces. In panic one police removed his shirt dropped his gun somewhere and hid behind the bushes. He was found much later when the police were looking for him with torches and with the assistance of local villagers. He was taken to Y Ramavaram. Morale of the police was shaken by the police.

Firing on the Gudem Station: At 4.45 in the early morning of 14th April Korukonda LGS and Galikonda armed militia fired at the Gudem police station and APSP police camp at the mandal center with the aim of harassing the enemy. Treating this as a raid on the station, police locked themselves inside the station and continued firing for two hours. They exhibited their cowardice by shouting for help. Squad fired just 10 rounds and retreated from the place in split second.

Revulakota opportunity ambush: About 70 members ANS, APSP and Greyhound forces (elite forces) were going on foot at Revulakota village near Palakajeedi of Koyyuru mandal in Visakhapatnam district. Palakajeedi, Konalova Squads along with the local militia noticed them and attacked. PGA hurled soap bombs at the police force and started firing on them. Police retreated immediately with panic.

Chintagaruvupalem deliberate ambush: Three LG suads and militia carried out deliberate ambush on the ANS, greyhound forces, when they were walking on the road near Chintagrruvupalem in Y r’amavarrri mandal.in which four members including one SI were killed and three more were seriously injured. PGA retreated safely without any losses.

Toorpumamidi ambush: In a single person ambush. carried out by triggering the land mines fixed between the villages Toorpumamidi and Nerellabanda on the ANS and APSP forces on May l5, one special police was killed and two others were injured. One of them was an informer.

These series of attacks by us have shaken the enemv.

Kalimela and Motu:

Kalimela and Motu are two block centers in Malkangiri district Orissa state and have two police stations and some Special armed police camps. With the co-ordination of primary and secondary forces of PGA of AOB and DK and also the basic militia in the two simultaneous raids were conducted at 8.30 evening on August 9th. In Kalimela, the raid was success. PGA got 43 weapons and killed 3 policemen. In Motu which is 60 kms away from this place two police were killed and many were injured. Coms. Kranti Ranandev,. Vijay and. Mallesh became martyrs. Despite losses on PGA side, the action created panic in the Orissa police forces.

Landmine triggered at Maredumilli : On September 9th, primary and secondary forces of our PGA, planted a landmine in the national highway between Rampa Chodavaram and Maredualli. By triggering this landmine they blasted a police van carrying 29 CRPF personnel. 5 CRPF men were killed on the spot and 14 other were seriously injured. People have displayed that revolutionary support to peoples militia and PGA in successfully carrying out the PGA campaign in the Eastern ghats during various meetings conducted on different occasion.

Activities of Militia

Local armed militia attacked the CRPF police force and 30 members, who came for disrupting the martyrs meeting on July 28th near Kottavedurupalli of Gudem mandal in Visakha district. When two soap boms were hurled at the place where they were camping, than ran away from the place leaving behind all their food and eatables. And the memorial meeting was successfully conducted. After holding the meeting armed militia blasted the forest office building at RV Nagar registering their protests against the repression. On the night of August 19th, local armed militia blasted the mandal office building in Gudem.. This action was too done to protest the attack on the people and for condemning the arrests recently made. On 6th September, local armed militia, basic militia and Korukonda LGS, combined together to form 40 people and went to the Darakonda police station and destroyed the building. They destroyed both the old building and the new one which they have constructed after our attack in February.
