* September 1999: Guerrillas raided a police
station in Papannapet in Medak district and carried away 15 weapons. The action
was carried out by the guerrilla squads of neighbouring Nizamabad.
* September 1999:
A big landlord who was also the sitting MLA from
Sirpur constituency in Adilabad — Palvai Purushotham Rao — was annihilated along
with three of his gunmen in the TDP office. Two stens were seized from them by a
special guerrilla squad.
* September 1999:
One Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police along with three constables were wiped out
in an ambush by the guerrillas in the third week, in Dobbalapadu village in
Mahadevpur mandal in Karimnagar district.
* November 1999:
A seven-member special guerrilla squad carried out an ambush on a police party
near Sonala village in Boath mandal of Adilabad on second November. One
policeman was killed and seven others, including an SI, were seriously injured
when the jeep in which they were travelling hit a land mine triggered off by the
guerrillas. One .303 rifle was seized in the ambush.
* December 1999:
two constables and a sub inspector of police of
Khanapur PS were wiped out in a land mine blast set off by a special guerrilla
squad on December 4th on the outskirts of Khanapur town in Adilabad district.
The CI and ten other policemen sustained serious injuries.
* December 1999:
on December 6th, a police jeep was ambushed by a
15-member special guerrilla squad in Etur Nagaram mandal centre in Warangal
district. The five member police batch was on its way to remove the placards put
up by CPI (ML)[PW] in Etur Nagaram town calling upon the people to observe
December 6 as anti communal day in protest against the pulling down of the Babri
Masjid by the Hindu fascist forces in 1992. The ambush took place just one km
away from the police station. Three SLRs and a .303 rifle were captured by the
guerrillas.
* December 1999:
An ambush was carried out by the guerrillas on
December 19th near Kuntala Manepalli on a 30-member police party coming on foot.
A constable of the APSP was killed on the spot and several others were injured,
when they were checking for a landmine at a culvert.
* December 1999:
Guerrillas attacked the Warangal district secretary of the TDP in the first week
of December in Warangal city. Two gunmen were killed while the TDP leader was
hospitalised. A sten gun and a revolver were seized in the action.
* December 1999:
A head-constable was annihilated in Parkal town and an AK-47 was snatched in the
first week of December.
* January 2000:
A CRPF head-constable was annihilated near Srirampur camp in Peddapalli centre
in Karimnagar district in the last week of January and a sten gun was seized.
* January 2000:
A notorious constable was wiped out near Veenavanka
Police Station in Huzurabad centre in Karimnagar district.
* January 2000:
A major raid was carried out by a 40-member guerrilla force on the DySP guard
room in Kagaznagar town in Adilabad district on January 14. Two policemen were
killed and two SLRs were seized. The office was blown up with dynamite. The
office was located just 200 yards from the Police Station that housed 60
policemen but none of them came to the site of the raid.
* February 2000:
A policeman was injured in the raid on Karepalli PS in Khammam on February 8.
* March 2000:
A major raid was carried out on Asaralli PS in Gadchiroli district of
neighbouring Maharashtra by the platoons of North Telangana. A total of 26
weapons (20 SLRs, five .303 and one revolver) were seized along with ammunition.
Ten policemen who were injured in the attack surrendered to the guerrillas. One
guerrilla — Comrade Satheesh — died in the initial exchange of fire. Another
guerrilla — Comrade Prathap — was killed when the mine that he was carrying went
off accidentally.
* April 2000:
One police constable and one guerrilla squad member died in an exchange of fire
in the second week of April near Mallaram village in Manthani centre in
Karimnagar district. The incident occurred when a large force of the police sat
in ambush to eliminate the PW squad.
