The inclusion of PW
and MCCI in the list of terrorist organisations by the No.1 terrorist and
international bandit, George Bush, is not surprising. The present move by the US
is a part of the international conspiracy hatched by the imperialists led by the
US imperialists to drown the people’s struggles worldwide in rivers of blood in
order to carry on their brigandage, loot and plunder of the world people without
any hindrance. With South Asia becoming a focal point after West Asia due to the
rising tide of people’s wars in Nepal and India and the growing unity of the
Maoist forces in the sub-continent, naturally the attention of the world’s sole
superpower fell on South Asia. The region is also important to US imperialism
geo-politically.
By now the entire
world knows that so-called terrorism has been propped up by US imperialism to
create a feeling of mass insecurity, and use this as a pretext to impose fascist
measures like the Patriot Act, Homeland Security Act, Anti-Immigration laws,
POTA and so on. Especially in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks on the
bastions of US imperialism, terrorism has become a part of the imperialist
lexicon, and faithfully parroted by its reactionary stooges in the Third World
countries. It is meant to denote any and every type of people’s movement—whether
it is a Maoist revolution as in Nepal, the Philippines, India etc., national
liberation struggles as in Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, etc., and struggles
against imperialist globalisation, against the rapacious policies of the World
Bank-IMF-WTO combine, against imperialist war and aggression.
The American
imperialists have tried to use the 9/11 attacks as a pretext to wage wars of
aggression against the Third World countries that defy its authority or
domination, even more ruthlessly than ever before. Iraq and Afghanistan are
classic examples of the arrogant international bandit trying to impose a
colonial rule by enslaving an entire population. The ruthlessness, the ferocity,
the orgy of brutal violence unleashed by these sadistic White racist plunderers
knows no parallel in human history and surpasses the pogroms of Jews by the
Nazis. These thugs have only contempt for international laws, Geneva convention,
the laws of any independent member-state of the UN, and have no respect for
human rights whatsoever as seen in the savage bombardment of Iraqi cities
killing children and ordinary civilians at will, torturing prisoners in the most
abominable and obnoxious manner.
The world looks
aghast at the ghastly scenes of sadistic tortures, as revealed in photos, by the
American and British armies. But then the US has a history of the most cruel
barbarities in history, while the British’s colonial conquests were achieved
only with the rivers of blood. As for the US: By the end of the 19th century, in
the name of the "will of God", the American army killed 6 million Philippines,
forcibly occupied Puerto Rico and Guam and Hawaii in 1898; between 1898 and 1934
US marines invaded Cuba 4 times, Nicaragua 5 times, Honduras 7 times, and the
Dominican Republic 4 times, Haiti twice, Guatemala once, Panama twice, Mexico
three times and Columbia 4 times. In all these acts of aggression lakhs of
innocent locals were butchered. All were in the name of democracy, but actually
to serve US business interests. History stood witness to American brutalities in
the American invasion of Korean the early 1950s killing an estimated 4.5 million
Koreans (mostly civilian), and in Vietnam, between 1965 to 1975, it killed 2
million Vietnamese and dropped 7 million tones of bombs on Vietnam, including 4
lakh tones of lethal napalm and other toxic substances. Such brutalities and the
rape of democratic rights by US imperialism were perpetrated on the peoples of
Nicaragua, Angola, Guatemala, Chile, Haiti and many other countries in recent
decades. And now in typical Yankee fashion the Bush administration has declared
war on Maoists in India, who are struggling for establishing a genuine people’s
democracy.
The declaration of
organisations in other countries as terrorists by the US imperialists proves the
imperial outlook of this international brigand in treating the entire world as
its backyard with little respect for the territorial integrity of other
countries. This act is open interference, and outright violation of the
sovereign rights of India, however much nominal they may be. All democratic
organisations and individuals must condemn this outright intervention by a
foreign country in the affairs of our country. The US had the temerity to commit
such an act only due to the collusion and kowtowing by the reactionary Indian
ruling classes. In fact, the Vajpayee-Advanis, Chandrababu-Budhadevs and the
like, are not only too pleased at this declaration of war by their master in
Washington, but would have themselves begged them to do so since it is in the
interests of both the imperialists and the Indian ruling classes. The timing of
the inclusion of PW and MCCI in the terrorist list is also significant as it is
meant to warn that even if its stooge Chandrababu Naidu is thrown out of power
in AP and the BJP from the Centre, the US imperialists will ensure that the war
against these revolutionary organisations would continue unhampered. Now that
the Congress has come to power will they demand a reversal of the US declaration
on what is a matter concerning the internal affairs of India and nothing to do
with the US?
The inclusion of the
two revolutionary organisations in the terrorist list by the US imperialists
only enhances the reputation of these organisations genuinely committed to the
new democratic revolution in India and engaged in advancing the people’s war. In
neighbouring Nepal and in the Philippines, the CPN(Maoist) and the CPP—the
revolutionary parties leading the people’s wars in their countries
respectively—were declared terrorist in the aftermath of 9/11 attacks. The
ongoing people’s wars in these countries had only grown stronger since then and,
in Nepal in particular, the growth has been rapid. The same would be the result
in India.
The people of India
must resist the blatant interference of US imperialism in the internal affairs
of the country by declaring organisations in India as "terrorist" and must fight
and beat back the growing intervention of US imperialism in all aspects of the
life of our country.
