After the War of
aggression on Afghanistan, the enemy number one of the world people - the US
Super Power, has now completed all the preparations to occupy Iraq. The first
time after the Vietnam war lakhs of people of America, Europe, Asia and other
continents are marching on the streets, raising their voice against the US’s war
of aggression, from September 2002 onwards. A survey in Europe showed that 75%
of the people are opposing the war. But imperialism never gives importance to
the opinions of the broad masses.
As the interest of
the people of the world are in direct contradiction with imperialism, and the US
imperialism in particular, the US has declared the people of the whole world as
its enemies. Particularly now it is targeting areas of sources of natural
resources. To capture this wealth of the world people, US imperialism as the
leader of the world imperialists, is acting like a global policeman and directly
deploying its armed forces to occupy sovereign countries of the world for its
absolute control. To do this it is wooing its allies by offering a share of its
loot. According to the May 2001 Bush administration’s national energy policy
paper, by 2020 oil imports will account for two thirds of US consumption. Iraq
is one of the main sources for this. All the major imperialist countries have
international oil companies with major stakes in a regime change in Iraq. To
convince the other imperialists of UN Security council towards a pro war US
stand, is using the promise of access of Iraq’s oil as a bargaining chip. By
capturing Iraq, the US is planning to capture and control the whole of the
Middle-East, which have enormous oil resources. Once British imperialism
controlled these areas but now between 1940 to 1967, US imperialist companies
have increased their oil loot from 10% to 72%. Then onwards its loot has further
increased.
Control of oil
through military force would thus translate into greater economic, political and
military power, on a global scale. So before establishing its puppet regime
after capturing Iraq, the White House has already planned in detail that, Iraq
would be governed by one American commander, Gen. Tomung Franks, for a period of
a minimum of 2 years.
The Maoist Communist
Centre of India and the CPI(ML)(PW) call upon the great masses of India to
oppose and resist the designs of American imperialism. Further we appeal to the
Indian democratic forces to teach a lesson to the real terrorist of world
democracy, the US imperialists. The BJP led Indian government is supporting this
aggressive war under different camouflages. Let us put mounting pressure on the
Indian government, to not support, directly or indirectly, America in its war of
aggression on Iraq. Let us unite to voice protest against the US war of
aggression and its world hegemonist plans.
