People launched their own "PEOPLE’S SCHOOLS" in DK

The revolutionary masses of DK are steadily advancing in the path of people’s war, consciously opposing the reforms being launched by the oppressive governments and initiating their own revolutionary reforms according to their needs and wishes. On the one hand, they’re fighting against the mercenary forces of the exploitative ruling classes and on the other hand, they’re setting up their own organs of the New People’s Power. In the course of this period they are concentrating on education and health facilities, because this area has been neglected for years by the oppressive governments.

In the Indravati area of Maad Division, people have launched their own "people’s schools" in two villages under the leadership of the revolutionary mass organisations DAKMS and KAMS. It’s notable that these two schools were inaugarated on the occassion of the birth anniversary of our Great Marxist Teacher Lenin and the foundation day of the party, i.e. 22nd April, 2002

Range level leaders of the DAKMS and KAMS inaugarated the schools and addressed the gathering. Large number of people gathered there to launch their schools. In their speeches, they spoke about the education and health conditions of the people. They also told the people that for tens of years the oppressive governments had been neglecting the people’s basic needs and had showed interest only in looting them and their precious resources. They called upon the people that only people’s power is the alternative for their own development. They also pointed out that their new political power can be protected only when people’s armed force is strengthened. All the people attended the meeting also paid red homage to Com. Lenin and rememberd the tasks of our Party’s IX Congress.

The people decided that a teacher will be given Rs. 500 per month as salary for his living. The teacher will also get a glass full of rice, some salt and chillis, monthly from every family of the village, and a peice of land will be given to him for farming.

People have worked together with free labour to build a school-cum-quarter for the teacher.

In these people’s schools two periods of vacation will be given to the pupils. Once in the farming season and secondly in the harvesting season. Each period will be for 15 days.

All the revolutionary days will be observed with revolutionary culture and meetings will be conducted accordingly.

48 children enrolled in these two schools.

The inaugaration meetings were concluded with revolutionary songs and dances. No need to say that the village militia guarded this ceremony with patrolling and sentries.
