At last Vajpayee, the Prime Minister of India, has now unmasked himself brutally, frankly at the BJP’s National Executive meeting on 12th April disclosing that his crocodiles tears for the brutalized Muslims in Gujarat were merely a hoax of liberalism, in reality he is the political mastermind behind the carnage in Gujarat. Not only did he justify the killer Narendra Modi’s role as the Hitler of Gujarat, Vajpayee labeled the entire Muslim community in India as a pack of troubleshooters and shamelessly stood by the perpetrators of pogroms in Gujarat. The gory events in Gujarat – the bloody massacres of Muslims without sparing children, uprooting of entire Muslim localities, the large-scale open gang-rape of Muslim women, selective destruction and loot of Muslim properties and such heinous crimes and barbarities are a well laid-out pre-hatched conspiracy of the fascist RSS–VHP–BJP combine to decimate Muslims in India. What happened in Gujarat was not like a riot but a Government-sponsored butchery of the Muslims as a part of minority cleansing operations. The Hindutva goons went berserk inspired and patronized by the so-called secular state. It is crystal clear that the tag of secularism to India’s Constitution is as preposterous as the tag of socialism. What is despicable is that like the BJP fascists, the Congress-I, Telugu Desam, Trinamul Congress and such political parties have also plunged into the game of reaping maximum political mileage while Gujarat keeps burning and terror stalking the areas inhabited by Muslims.

The fascist RSS supremo just before the BJP executive meeting in Goa sent out his sermons that all the people inhabiting this land called Hindustan in the past have to identify themselves as Hindus. With the massacres of Muslims, the protagonists of Hindutva are holding out threats to the Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, etc that they have to kowtow to their variety of Hinduism.

It is to be emphatically said that the execution of the genocidal policy in Gujarat synchronized with the frightful realization of the BJP and its gang that people, weighed down by the menacing economic and political problems, have started dumping them and their utopia of Hindutva Ram rajya. The fascist gang led by BJP is now in dire need of a division of the masses on communal lines. The discontent of the people in general against the policies of globalization, privatization, liberalization, increasing closure of factories and retrenchment, price-rise, and such monumental problems finds expression in an anti – BJP election trend and popular outbursts in various forms against the BJP and its allies. At first a canard was raised about the presence every-where of the I.S.I. as the fountain head of India’s problems and it was followed by the banning of Muslim organizations with others. Then the BJP Government passed the draconian bill POTA through the joint session of the Parliament to go ahead with its fascist policy of gagging the voice of opposition by throwing anybody behind bars. It is notable that the CPI (M) Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya has joined the Muslim-bashing exercise by declaring the Madarasas as schools of Muslim terrorism. The R.S.S. mouthpiece Organizer readily showered all praise on Mr. Bhattachrya for his anti-Muslim opprobrium. The CPI(M) Chief Minister also sees eye to eye with the BJP Government at the center regarding the dire need of enacting the preventive detention bill POCO. It was natural that Mr. Bhattacharya would receive Kudos from Jana Krishnamurthy, the President of the BJP in a recent press conference in Kolkata, for his anti-Muslim utterances.

The BJP and its Hindutva forces represent a small percentage of Hindus. And the well-meaning common people who swear by Hinduism do not subscribe to that brand of Fascist communal Hindutva programme. The common mass of people, both the Hindus and the Muslims, have lived in amity and peace over centuries contributing to economic, social and the cultural enrichment of the country with their sweat and blood. It is they who have always borne the brunt of communal frenzy and economic onslaught by the powers that be. What emerges poignantly from the media reports is that it was the common Hindu mass of people who proved saviours of the innocent Muslims from the claws of the Hindu communalists. The BJP-RSS-VHP, etc. are now hell-bound to inject communal venom into the minds of those common Hindu masses for establishing a Hitler Raj in India. A pack of hounds comprising power-hungry politicians, industrialists, traders, landlords, parasitical elites and lumpen hoodlums instrumental in fanning up communal passions and perpetrating barbarities on Muslims. Stirring-up communalism is a deep conspiracy to divert the attention of the toiling people from the plunder of imperialism and exploitation by comprador big bourgeois and feudal landlords.

We appeal to the oppressed people of India irrespective of any religion to resist the onslaughts of the Fascist goons of the BJP-RSS-VHP. The oppressed Muslims and other minorities are not alone. They have to cement bonds with the general Hindu masses. Not the path of religious fanaticism, but it is only through class struggle that the problem of communalism can be solved forever. So we appeal to the oppressed people to take to the path of class struggle and particularly to the ongoing revolutionary people’s war in Andhra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Dandakaranya and Andhra-Orissa border areas and other states to join the People’s War against the communalists and other exploiters of the Indian masses.
