In the early hours of May 26 th
the Police of various police stations of Jarkhand encircled the Special
Guerilla Squad, based on information provided by an informer, and killed four
comrades. This incident happened 25 KM from Visrampur Police station, between
Govarletwa and Piparkhand, near Marmaghat village.
The four comrades included Comrade Dadhichi Roy (Patelji),
Vikas and Naveen and another comrade. Comrade Dadhichi Roy was recently taken
into the Bihar-Jharkhand Joint state committee. The SP of Palamau, Anil Palta
had planned this encounter. Anil Palta is also responsible for the Guljar
Bigah, Mahatan Bigaha(Aurangabad), Piparakhand(Visrampur) incidents even
before this. As the Koel- Kaimur movement is expanding very rapidly and
recruitment is increasing very fast, the police authorities are desperately
bent on putting hurdles to the movement. They have increased the repressive
measures with indiscriminate arrests under POTA. At present Jharkhand is
leading in the number of arrests under POTA, after Kashmir. That was why the
CPI(ML)(PW) and MCC had given a joint call to observe an economic blockade in
  Jharkand region in May.
Condemning the killing and describing it as part of the
suppression of the Koel Kaimur movement, the Bihar Jharkhand committee of the
CPI(ML)(PW) called for a bandh on 7 th
June, which was a good success.
Comrade Dadhichi Roy(51) hails from Buxar district of
Bihar. He joined the movement in 1980. He had earlier been in the Trade Union
movement. After that he worked for the Kisan Sanghatan. At present the police
may be happy that they could kill Dadhichi Roy and could arrest the fast
spreading Koel-Kaimur movement. But by killing people or leaders of the
movement they may arrest the pace, but history has already proved that
repression begets more resistance. That is the dialectical law of the
  development of society.
