A WORLD TO WIN    #16   (1991)

Rise Up Against Imperialism's War of Aggression!

By the Union of Iran Communists (Sarbedaran)

The aggressor Yankees, with the help of their European allies, regional lackeys and their attack dog Israel, have unleashed an immense mass murder under the guise of the "liberation of Kuwait". They have come in order to drive the masses of Palestine, the whole Arab world and the Middle East to their knees through bloody suppression. In the past several days they have rained tens of thousands of bombs down on Iraqi cities and villages and have piled up huge amounts of armament in their stock in order to be able to carry out even more mass murder. More than half a million armed mercenaries led by the U.S. are now carrying out these actions. The scenes of their crimes being broadcast live to the world are disgusting and hateful. Professional murderers appear on the TV screen and joyfully tell of "lighting up" Baghdad with their bombs and missiles. In order to throw cold water on the anger of the masses, Bush, Mitterrand, Major and other heads of the Western allies appear on TV and say that they are "praying for the safety of the people of Iraq"(!). The Soviet social-imperialists, who are busy riding their tanks through the Baltics and butchering the people over there, once again announce their support for "international law and order" and the decisions of the United Nations. The Secretary-General of the United Nations Company is "sorry" that nothing can be done and sheds crocodile tears.

In another corner, the heads of the Islamic Republic regime jump up and down and announce: "we are neutral"(!). They are promoting themselves as the regional gendarme of imperialism. On the one hand, they assure their masters that, "We are in full agreement with the resolutions of the U.N. Security Council"; on the other hand they are trying to convince the angry masses -- who are following the events of the war carefully and anxiously -- that they also should stay "neutral"; ie, they should not rise in support of the Iraqi masses whose blood is being shed by the imperialists and they should not challenge the U.S. and its allies. They try to convince the peoples of Iran to stay "neutral" in the face of an important event that will have a serious impact on the global alignment of forces and on the relative strength of revolution and counter-revolution in the coming period. In fact, they want the masses to turn a blind eye and let the imperialist powers and the reactionaries decide the fate of the masses of this region for many more decades. The Islamic regime is well aware that the instant our peoples decide not to stay "neutral", the flames of their wrath and anti-imperialist struggles will rise high and aim principally at the main expression and representative of the imperialist system in Iran -- ie, this same reactionary regime. That is why the officials of the Islamic Republic crawl to the courts of the imperialist powers, weeping that they "are afraid of the war" and begging them to "establish political stability in the whole region".

The current events have evaporated like smoke the false dreams of "establishing peace and stability" in the world. All of the imperialist states, which up until a few months ago were lecturing their citizens about their ardent love of peace and were promising them that the post-"Cold War" era would be one of peace, are now rattling sabres and barking chauvinist hymns. We declare that there will definitely be no peace -- neither for them, nor for us. We must rise up and declare to these criminal oppressors and their hellish system that they are the source of all war, aggression, and plunder and misery and we are destined to liberate the world from their shackles. Everybody should also know that these big gangsters do not have any right to punish the smaller ones -- they themselves must be punished by the peoples of the world for the many crimes they have committed, such as in Hiroshima, Vietnam, Algeria, Afghanistan, etc.

The imperialist and reactionary powers can be defeated and destroyed; we should recognise the path to victory and set out on it. Even though the military arsenal of these murderers they arrogantly show off to the masses is deadly and devastating, ultimately, in the face of people's war, it is just a heap of metal. The imperialists are well aware of their weaknesses and are afraid of mass upsurges -- even within their own base countries they had to put away their "freedom-loving" masks and show their claws and teeth to the masses. The Yankees and their allies are openly censuring the news of the war in order to keep secret the real extent of their mass murder as well as their own defeats and casualties. Their defence ministries have warned and threatened all reporters not to report "news in conflict with the national interests". French imperialism outlawed anti-war demonstrations; in the US -- the flag-bearer of "Democracy" -- internment camps have been set up for thousands of anti-war protesters. The interior ministries of the European Community organised an emergency meeting to deal with mass upsurges.

The response of the rebellious masses to these repressive measures has given a glimpse of the numerous troubles that have gripped the imperialists -- and more will come. In the "United States of Aggression" itself there are many clashes, flag burnings and much struggle. In Europe, the progressive and anti-system strata have waged angry protests against the crimes of the imperialist rulers. In the North African countries, violent clashes between the masses and government forces have increased, and the economic and diplomatic centres of the imperialists are at risk. In Pakistan, Bangladesh and India, the largest anti-imperialist protests of recent years have burst out and put the U.S. dependent forces in those countries on the run. Turkey is pregnant with explosive events. In South Africa, so far, dozens of black militants protesting against imperialist military aggression have been arrested. The situation in the Phillipines and S. Korea is turbulent. Latin America can become a violent scene of anti-Yankee imperialist struggles. This war of aggression met broad opposition even before it started. Indeed, with every criminal step the imperialists teach the masses to hate them and in fact dig their own grave deeper. They prove again and again that imperialism cannot be reformed and that the only way to eliminate this infection is radical surgery.

The world is witnessing big events and many things are changing. In the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, the workers, peasants and other oppressed are coming onto the scene in increasing numbers. They want to get rid of the yoke of imperialism and reaction; they want their national and class aspirations to be realised; they want to straighten their backs bent by humiliation for ages; they want to wash off the bitter memories of past defeats not with tears but with the blood of their enemies. The masses around the world are coming to write history with their own hands. The struggles being waged against this imperialist war are part of this trend. Struggles around the world should be intensified to defeat this imperialist war of aggression and we must specifically and actively defend the masses in the Arab world who are bound by the same chains as we are. Such a struggle is an important step in our protracted revolutionary battle to rip apart the web of imperialist domination of the world and overthrow all the reactionaries and guardians of the old order.

We Will Drown the Imperialist Aggressors and their Lackeys in a Sea of People's War!
